Intention was created during a time in my life in which I reevaluated my choices and then acted on it.
This one was created in the mid 2000s and was sold to a collector from Boise, Idaho. It's acrylic on canvas.
This piece, Andalusia, was a commission. The art collector liked another painting I created called Flamenco and wanted a similar piece with the same colors. When I think of the autonomous community in Peninsular Spain, Andalusia, warm-hearted people with pre-Roman, Iberian roots come to mind. As I was painting this pieace, I remembered about my travels to Southern Spain awhile back. Eyes closed momentarily, I revisit my travels: raw folkloric guitar tunes in the background, Flamenco dancers' choreographic precision mesmerizes me; I note emotional intensity, expressive use of arms and unmatched rhythmic stamping of the feet; I sip on my glass of Sierra de Malaga. Ole!
This was created by me in July of 2021.
I created this piece during a time in my life in which a dear family member had a health issue requiring surgery. This painting is a reminder to all of us that health is a top priority. It's acrylic on canvas, ready to hang, and it was sold years after I created it.
I created this one during the lockdowns back in 2020. It was sold to a collector immediately after its creation.
I chose vibrant, fiery reds and oranges to exemplify passion, sensuality, energy.
One of my early abstracts ...
This commission piece is called Destination. A collector who purchased several other paintings of mine asked me to create one for his friend who runs his own law firm. The attorney intended to adorn one of his office walls with some of my bright artwork. He browsed through my work online and liked the one titled Health that was sold. He wanted a similar one. I learned more about the attorney and the difficulties he was experiencing at that time in his life. I named the painting Destination to invite him to contemplate on the importance of perseverance. Perseverance is the key to our desired destination ln life regardless of the zig-zag path to that destination. I hope that, by looking at this painting every work day, this collector refills his workdays with optimism, purpose and joy.
